A two-part Bible study series with Dr. Jane Dawson, bi-weekly (every second week) through the fall, leading up to a four-week (once a week) Advent study starting in late November. Both parts are open to anyone on a drop-in basis.
The first part, bi-weekly, starts on Wednesday, September 13, from 10-11:30 a.m. and runs until November 22, consisting of six sessions over 12 weeks. Group explorations will share wonderings, questions and insights from the perspectives each person brings.
The second part shifts to a once-a-week four-week study for the season of Advent, starting on November 29 and running until December 20, focusing each week on some of the "supporting characters" in the Christmas story, drawing on relevant scripture passages and looking at a work of art that depicts each scene:
1) Mary (Luke 1: 26-45) (Botticelli)
2) Joseph (Matthew 1: 18-25) (Gandolfi)
3) Shepherds (Luke 2: 1-20) (Rembrandt)
4) Magi (Matthew 2: 1-12) (Bramer)
