The First Met knitting group makes prayer shawls, prayer scarves and prayer patches. These are used as gifts to celebrate significant occasions: births, special anniversaries, achievements and to comfort and support people during times of illness and bereavement. In addition, clothing and coverings are made for: Cridge Centre for the Family, Women's Transition House, The Compassionate Warehouse, the UCW's Babywear for the Mustard Seed, Jeneece Place etc.

The group meets the second Tuesday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the church. There is wool, needles, patterns, fun and fellowship to share. For more information, phone Joan Mickelson at (250) 385-4033 or Shirley Chatfield at (250) 388-9401.
