Wednesday, September 20: Award-Winning Victoria film-maker Judy Jackson and her film, Where Can We Live in Peace? This documentary deals with the faith-based Abba House Project on the Mexico-US border that reaches out to would-be refugees from Central and South America and the Caribbean. Wednesday, October 4: Seven Sacred Laws, a film by Nihad Ademi with commentary and discussion led by John Borrows, Canada’s leading Indigenous legal scholar and Loveland Chair of Indigenous Law, University of Toronto.
Wednesday, October 25 and November 15: What is Democracy? a National Film Board film in two parts by Astra Taylor, with commentary and discussion by Jamie Lawson, Associate Professor of Political Science at UVic and friends.
