Mindfulness for the New Year
Ask yourself these questions for 2017:
- Do I want to cope more effectively with stressful situations?
- Do I want to develop my awareness and concentration?
- Do I want to develop a calm and peaceful mind?
- Do I want to increase my ability to relax?
- Do I want to develop greater energy and enthusiasm for life?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these, consider registering in the six-week Mindfulness for the New Year course offered by First Met on Tuesday evenings, beginning January 17, 2017, from 7-8:30 p.m.
In this course, you will learn how to develop your awareness and concentration, your attentiveness, your ability to reduce anxiety and to cope with stressful situations and your ability to relax and develop self-compassion and compassion for others.

Note: there is no session on Feb 14
This participatory and practical course includes:
The course will be offered by Wally Lazaruk, PhD, an education consultant and Certified Professional Coach. Wally received professional training in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) developed at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He worked as an intern with the Center for Mindfulness, University of California, San Diego and received training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.

The Mindfulness for the New Year course will be offered at a cost of $75.00. Fees will be used to fund Spiritual Care and Wellness initiatives at First Met.
