The First Met Knitting Group is a big supporter of the Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. The group has donated sweaters and crib-sized afghans to families who will be using the foundation's new Home Away from Home, Qwalayu House, being built in Campbell River (equivalent to Jeneece Place in Victoria).

The project is expected to open in the summer of 2021.

The First Met Knitting Group makes prayer shawls, prayer scarves and prayer patches used as gifts to celebrate significant occasions: births, special anniversaries, achievements and to comfort and support people during times of illness and bereavement. In addition, clothing and coverings are made for: Cridge Centre for the Family, Women's Transition House, The Compassionate Warehouse, the UCW's Babywear for the Mustard Seed, Jeneece Place etc.
