The First Met Board has just approved and released the Future Search Committee Report. The purpose of this report is to determine the future direction of First Met, so that we have a viable future as a faith community.

The Executive Summary of the report is being circulated to congregants. It is a little over 11 pages long; the full FSG Report is 59 pages long because it contains much more supportive detail about the “why” of the report’s recommendations about the six possible future options considered. For those who want to “dive in deep”, you can request a PDF of the full Future Search Committee Report from the Lauren Paterson, our Office Administrator.

After the congregation has opportunities to study and discern the recommendations of the report, the congregation will vote on a recommendation from the Board at a Congregational Meeting called for 23 October 2022. Until then, you are invited to engage with other congregants, staff, Board and members of the Future Search Group.  The first of these opportunities was an informational Congregational Meeting after church on Sunday, September 18. For those who did not attend in person, a Town Hall meeting was held on Zoom the next day ― September 19, 7:00 pm.  A daytime small groups will be held in the Doreene McLeod Rm, Wednesday, September 28 at 2:00 pm and another zoom small group on Monday, October 3 at 3:00 pm.

In addition to these discussions, a survey will be administered both online and in print after the small group discussions have ended.
