As winter and the return of cold weather approaches, public health authorities are concerned about an increase in illness due to influenza and COVID. Experience in the southern hemisphere suggests that this year’s influenza may be especially virulent as the past two years of COVID restrictions dramatically decreased influenza infections and reduced people’s natural immunity. As well, COVID continues to circulate in our communities. We encourage you to get your influenza vaccine and COVID boosters when they are available to you.
As a result of the expected increase in illness, we recommend that you wear masks again during worship and while attending activities at the church. Please also use the hand sanitizers located throughout the building when entering or leaving the church. In addition, please stay away from church if you are feeling unwell.
We have posted signs at the church entrances and will have masks available for those who do not have one at hand.
Need urgent pastoral care after hours? Please call the church at (250) 388-5188, press 4, then wait on the line.
