You are invited to join the Victoria Chapter of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan in their third annual Red Pashmina Walk. The walk is held to raise awareness of rights for women and girls around the world, especially those in Afghanistan, and to raise funds for our programs in Afghanistan.

This is a particularly difficult time for women in Afghanistan with the Taliban takeover. Women’s schooling is limited to elementary, with high schools remaining closed to girls. Many women are forbidden from working outside the home or leaving the home without a male escort.

Registration for the walk will be at 10:00 am on the lawn of the BC legislature, with Introductory Remarks at 10:20 am and the 3 km walk beginning at 10:30 am. All are welcome. Please consider wearing a red pashmina and/or a white top.

See Downloads below for a Pledge Sheet for those interested in gathering support for their walk, and a map of the walk route.
