Children, Youth and Families

Sunday School leaders: Hayley Henderson and Micia Kanstrup

Hayley and Micia are longtime volunteers and members of the First Met congregation. We are pleased to have them provide Sunday School leadership and coordination. Hayley will be taking a break (temporarily, we hope) from Sunday School in order to take over her husband's care.

Vision Statement

Mission: to teach and nourish God’s transformative love in an inclusive spiritual community.

1/ to share stories of Jesus and the Bible to enable children/youth to develop a spiritual framework for life

2/ to involve and encourage all in worship, outreach, and community engagement

3/ to give and teach tools to our children and youth, core beliefs, and practices of the United Church

Jan. 26 - In Sunday school today we'll learn about Jesus gathering his disciples at Galilee, and how we
can follow him today. Plus - our first annual FirstMet Scavenger Hunt! We apologize for any pitter-pattering of not-so-tiny footsteps through the church.

Scripture: Matthew 4:12-23 Jesus calls Simon and his
brother Andrew to be fishers of men. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers
of men. At once they left their nets and followed him." NIV

Family Talk: Who do you see in your family or congregation that is following Jesus?
