Welcome to Hayley Henderson and Micia Kanstrup!
Hayley and Micia are longtime volunteers and members of the First Met congregation. They will be working part-time to provide Sunday School leadership and coordination from May 1-August 31, 2019.
Mission: to teach and nourish God’s transformative love in an inclusive spiritual community.
1/ to share stories of Jesus and the Bible to enable children/youth to develop a spiritual framework for life
2/ to involve and encourage all in worship, outreach, and community engagement
3/ to give and teach tools to our children and youth, core beliefs, and practices of the United Church
Aug. 18: Have you noticed the many eagles flying over our cities, beaches and forests this summer? These beautiful and majestic birds reveal nature’s resilience and remind us of God’s call to be faithful caretakers of His creation. Today we’ll hear the First Nations story Taking Care of Mother Earth, by Celestine Aleck, on loan from Janet Gray with our thanks.
Recent sightings of Flat Jesus – at Camrose United church in Camrose Alberta!
This Sunday we’ll be BUSY!! Building our kites, learning Psalm 23 and John 3:16 (do you know it?) and finding symbols of faith in the Bible.
Today: John 3: 16
Family talk: How can we tell someone is faithful? What are some
ways you have cared for God’s creation?
At First Met we believe that children and youth are part of the body of Christ - a community in which all members are valued and contribute to the whole.
We offer a wide range of youth-focused worship events, Sunday School classes, youth groups and programs for children and parents, youth and young adults, including leadership development opportunities.
Children and youth are involved in our services every Sunday but play a special role on some special Sundays during the year.

- White Gift Sunday: the first or second Sunday in December
